We are looking for compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Casual Residential Children's Practitioners . This flexible role offers the opportunity to work across our children's residential services, providing vital support to children and young people aged 5 to 18.
As a casual worker, you'll help create a safe, stable and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Whether supporting daily routines, encouraging participation in activities, helping young people develop independence, or simply being a trusted adult who listens, you'll play an important part in helping children achieve positive outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Providing day-to-day care, support and supervision for children and young people.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a strong role model.
- Supporting children with education, activities, independence skills and personal development.
- Working as part of a dedicated team to create a warm, caring and stable home environment.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning and reviews.
- Supporting children with complex emotional, behavioural or additional needs.
- Promoting safeguarding, welfare and positive outcomes for all children in our care.
What we're looking for
We're seeking people who:
- Have experience working with children, young people or families, either professionally or through relevant life experience.
- Have good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to use business systems effectively.
- Are caring, patient and able to build positive relationships.
- Can remain calm and use good judgement in challenging situations.
- Are flexible, reliable and willing to work as part of a team.
- Have good communication, literacy and digital skills.
- Are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- A willingness to achieve the NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare within two years of appointment, if not already held.

Important information
This role involves shift work, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-in duties and occasional lone working. You may work across different children's homes as required. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for successful applicants. A full driving licence is required. We cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
