We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director, Regional Collections Analytics

In this role, you will:

- Lead end-to-end analytical solutions across multiple regions and business domains, including fraud, collections, underwriting and credit bureau management. Apply strong business and technical understanding to make timely, well-informed decisions when data is ambiguous or incomplete, while balancing further analysis against business priorities.

- Convert unstructured, complex and high-impact business problems into clearly defined analytical projects with objectives, success measures and expected business outcomes. Act as a subject matter expert and consultant, communicating actionable recommendations effectively across all organisational levels, including senior executives.

- Design, develop, deploy, monitor and recalibrate statistical and machine learning models throughout their full production lifecycle. Select appropriate programming languages and analytical platforms, including Statistical Analysis System, Python, R, Structured Query Language, Java with Spring Boot, React JavaScript, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, according to role requirements.

- Build scalable, reusable and redeployable analytical solutions that can be adapted across regions and markets, and lead their successful implementation. Use Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, DataProc, Hadoop, Spark and Hive Structured Query Language where appropriate, applying efficient coding, distributed computing and advanced data optimisation practices.

- Lead analytical projects from design through closure, covering data collection, database design, data management, governance, analysis, model development, presentation and documented evidence. Establish clear delivery metrics, manage dependencies and accountability, provide technical guidance, and ensure that outcomes deliver measurable improvements such as reduced fraud losses, improved collections efficiency, stronger underwriting profitability or better credit bureau management.

- Uphold strong risk management, data security, anti-money laundering, operational risk, compliance, audit and internal control standards across all analytical activities. Promote an inclusive and collaborative leadership culture by setting a clear analytical vision, building consensus across diverse teams, developing innovative and sustainable solutions, supporting HSBC diversity programmes, coaching colleagues and completing other relevant duties as assigned.

To be successful you will:

- Demonstrate at least 8 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, operations analytics, workforce management, capacity planning, statistical modelling, machine learning, visualisation, dashboard development or Java web development. Apply this experience to solve complex operational and business problems within dynamic financial services and banking environments.

- Hold a relevant graduate or postgraduate qualification in statistics, economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science, information systems, machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, natural language processing or another relevant quantitative discipline. Combine academic knowledge with a strong understanding of banking operations, financial products, customer processes and operational performance requirements.

- Use Statistical Analysis System, Structured Query Language and Python to perform advanced analysis, manage data and develop robust analytical solutions. Apply statistical modelling and machine learning techniques such as nearest-neighbour classification, Bayesian classification, support-vector machines, decision forests, clustering, decision trees and artificial neural networks to generate reliable and actionable insights.

- Apply knowledge of generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering to improve analytical productivity, research, automation and decision support. Use structured reasoning approaches, including chain-of-thought and tree-of-thought techniques where approved and appropriate, while maintaining data security, transparency, human oversight and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

- Demonstrate strong business analysis, organisational, problem-solving and project delivery skills, with the independence to manage complex work from definition through completion. Make sound decisions in changing banking environments, navigate organisational challenges effectively and deliver outcomes with appropriate documentation, quality controls and stakeholder engagement.

- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly through written reports, verbal discussions and compelling presentations tailored to different audiences, including senior management. Provide constructive leadership, collaborate across teams, support continuous improvement and uphold all applicable compliance, data protection, risk management and internal control requirements.
