At Advanced Surgery, we develop innovative technologies that enable surgeons worldwide to perform minimally invasive procedures with greater precision, efficiency, and confidence. As part of a global technology company, our solutions support mission-critical surgical applications and help improve patient outcomes every day. Every five seconds, one of our devices is used in a surgical procedure.
As a Working Student you will support our Control Engineering team in developing, testing, and maintaining control software for innovative medical devices. Working closely with experienced engineers, you will contribute to control features, experimental prototypes, and test environments that help advance our insufflator and pump technologies.
You will assist with technical investigations, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a multidisciplinary medical device environment. In addition, you will help improve engineering methods, processes, and model-based development practices.
This is a part-time position with a workload of 20 hours per week.
You support the development and testing of control algorithms via:
- Conducting pre-studies on rapid prototyping rigs
- Creating of simulation tests in Simulink Test
- Building test setups
- Executing and evaluating test runs on automated test setups
- Implementing scripts that support development
- Creating and maintaining documentation
Must have:
- Studies (B.Sc. or M.Sc) in automation engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, medical engineering, engineering science or similar
- Experience in MATLAB/Simulink required
- Experience in Rapid Prototyping via dSpace or Speedgoat required
- Experience in working on test rigs required
- Independent, goal-oriented, and analytical mindset
- Proficient in English
Nice to have:
- Experience in programming with C/C++, Python
- Experience in electronics and PCB design
