About the Diesel Technician Position

Our Diesel Technicians maintain and repair school buses to ensure every vehicle is safe and ready for service. You will use your mechanical and diagnostic skills to identify problems, complete repairs, and support the daily operation of the Danbury fleet.

Responsibilities include:

- Performing preventive maintenance and safety inspections
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel and automotive systems
- Maintaining and repairing brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, and related components
- Completing work orders accurately and documenting repairs
- Ensuring vehicles meet company and regulatory safety standards
- Assisting with mobile emergency repairs when needed
- Working closely with the maintenance and operations teams to keep the fleet available for service

Diesel Technician Qualifications

You may be a strong fit for this position if you:

- Have at least one year of automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicle maintenance experience
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Are willing and able to obtain a CDL with company-paid training
- Have a mechanic’s tool set
- Possess strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Are comfortable using computers to complete work orders and access maintenance information
- Are interested in expanding your skills through ASE training and certification
- Take pride in performing safe, accurate, and dependable work
