Purpose: To help run a smooth intramural program. Responsible for providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive, yet safe, environment. Must be able to implement Intramural Sports policies and playing rules in order to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and safety. They should maintain a positive attitude on-site and should always be striving to improve their officiating skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Officiate recreation events
- Assists with day-to-day operations of the Intramural program which includes, but is not limited to: scorekeeper, referee, timer, ball chaser, and line judge
- Working knowledge of the rules to all major sports
- Enforce all University, facility/program policies, rules, and regulations
- Maintain all equipment and ensure proper use
- Assist with pre and post-game logistics
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Work Study eligible preferred
- Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
- Well organized, punctual, and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
- lifting up to 15 lbs.
