Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To assist the College’s Chemical Hygiene Officer with the weekly testing of the emergency eyewash and safety shower stations in RNS.
Transferable Skills:
- Ability to work as part of a two-person testing & observation team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly testing of the emergency eyewash and safety shower stations in RNS.
- Assess the functionality of the safety stations.
- Report any deficiencies in the function of the safety stations.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
- Must be reliable, efficient, and willing to work in a two-person team.
- Preference given to individuals with prior lab course experience, but those who have had high school science courses are also encouraged to apply.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise and rare exposure to wet or humid conditions indoors to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
