Site Planner, Terafab

Tesla is seeking a highly capable Site Planner to support the planning and development of Terafab, one of Tesla’s next-generation manufacturing facilities. This role will be responsible for translating manufacturing, operational, infrastructure, and employee needs into a cohesive site plan that supports rapid development and long-term campus and regional growth.
The Site Planner will work at the intersection of master planning, site development, civil engineering, architecture, transportation, utilities, and construction, partnering closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and leadership to deliver a high-performance industrial campus.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity, solving complex site constraints, and driving projects from concept through implementation.

- Develop and maintain the Terafab site master plan, integrating building sites, circulation, utilities, logistics, amenities, open space, and future expansion areas
- Translate manufacturing and operational needs into strategic site planning solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, flexibility, and long-term scalability
- Conduct site planning studies for new buildings, expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and campus improvements, delivering concepts, phasing plans, and development scenarios to support executive decision-making
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Civil Engineering, Architecture, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, Security, Transportation, Construction, and Real Estate teams to align planning with technical and operational requirements
- Optimize multi-modal circulation, pedestrian, bicycle, vehicle, truck, material handling, and emergency routes—while establishing consistent site development standards for roads, parking, loading, and outdoor spaces
- Integrate site planning with civil and utility infrastructure, including grading, drainage, stormwater, power, water, and wastewater, and support permitting and entitlement strategies with regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate GIS/CAD documentation, produce clear visual communications, and review consultant/contractor deliverables to ensure adherence to master plan vision and project objectives

- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in site planning, campus planning, master planning, land development, for advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or data center campuses
- Proven ability to translate complex technical requirements, civil, transportation, utilities, grading, drainage, and permitting into clear, executable site plans
- Proficient in Civil 3D, GIS, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools; strong graphic communication skills for producing actionable planning visuals
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated project management excellence with the ability to prioritize, solve problems, and deliver results in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Professional licensure (Civil Engineering, Planning, Architecture), experience in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or data center campuses, and familiarity with Texas permitting, stormwater regulations, and field implementation preferred
