role
About the role:
As the Challenge Course Manager you will oversee the life-changing programs and activities that take place on
Patmos (our challenge course island). Your management of Patmos will include, but is not limited to, group
facilitation, team building initiatives, safety and risk management, course/equipment maintenance, and staff
recruitment, hiring, and supervision. You will also collaborate with the Programs team to plan Leadership
Development climbing/wilderness excursions and team building, as well as Patmos activity classes for Sr Camp
and Day Camp (this includes training/supervision of summer staff). You will be an essential part to the Guest
Services Team, working together to help fulfill our mission through all of the activities on Patmos at Flint Valley.
About you:
- You demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of New Life Ranch and exhibit Christlike character in all interactions.
- You are comfortable managing and coaching direct reports in their work and development.
- You take initiative in your work.
- You have good planning skills.
- You enjoy working with, and developing, teenage/college age students.
- You have experience in activity instruction and group facilitation.
- You have experience on a challenge course.
- You have your ACCT Level 1 & 2 Challenge Course Instructor certification (can be attained after hired).
- ACCT Challenge Course Manager is helpful but not required, and can be pursued after hired.
