Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager - 2nd Shift - Tuesday-Friday 3pm-2am

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Production Supervisor to join our team in Seymour, Indiana . In this role, you will lead a production team at the Seymour Machining Center on 2nd shift, overseeing machining operations for 78L/95L blocks and driving daily performance against safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

You will direct and coach hourly DWU team members, set clear expectations, and hold the floor accountable for safe, high-quality output. Working cross-functionally, you will lead root cause analysis on production issues, document and resolve quality defects, safety incidents, and work rule violations, and apply continuous improvement methods to reduce waste and strengthen process capability. Success in this role depends on visible floor presence, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to build trust across a diverse shop-floor team.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

- Direct the daily activities of a production team, aligning staffing, housekeeping, and workflow to consistently meet production targets.

- Oversee machining operations for 78L/95L blocks at the Seymour Machining Center, ensuring output meets quality and throughput expectations.

- Coach and mentor hourly DWU employees, promoting safe practices, high-quality workmanship, and efficient performance.

- Champion proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and acting on hazards to build an injury-free workplace.

- Investigate production, quality, and safety incidents, driving accurate root cause analysis and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

- Partner cross-functionally to analyze business needs and make informed production decisions that keep the operation moving forward.

- Document and address work rule violations, quality defects, and safety incidents, applying consistent and timely corrective action.

- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement waste reduction methods that lower process cost and raise quality.

- Role Expectations: The selected candidate should be available to work On-site, 2 nd Shift 3pm-2am (Tuesday-Friday).
- Oversee machining operations for 78L/95L blocks at the Seymour Machining Center, ensuring production goals are met.
- Provide coaching and guidance to hourly DWU employees to promote safe practices, high-quality output, and efficient performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze root causes and business needs, making informed production decisions to achieve targets.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork by actively listening, offering constructive feedback, and supporting peers and cross-functional partners.
- Document and address issues such as work rule violations, quality defects, and safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in and report updates during meetings relevant to assigned responsibilities and operational areas.
- Leverage prior production or machining leadership experience to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain an onsite presence at Seymour Machining Center, working a Tuesday–Friday schedule to support team and production needs.
