Designer, UI/UX

The role of the UI/UX Designer is to contribute to the creation, evolution and optimization of our SaaS platform and products ensuring seamless customer experience and successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles. Responsible for the design of promotional and administrative campaigns to aide in client deliverables and meet business needs. Uses independent judgement in developing creative solutions to the design of electronic and digital media enhancing user experience online and via mobile applications. Must have good communication skills, an appreciation for systems lifecycle methodologies, and a commitment to process adherence.

Preferred locations for this role are Houston, Texas or Knoxville, Tennessee.

What You Will Do

- Establish design guidelines with detailed design rationale for various product lines in portfolio.
- Establish and maintain the design process as part of the organization agility practice, including end user interviews, research, product management engagement and execution by the teams.
- Will work in various aspects of developing and designing UI/UX wireframes from epics and feature descriptions, and user stories. Development of wireframes could also include flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, prototypes, etc.
- Manage work to agreed upon goals and objectives, including schedules, milestones and cost.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project team to structure test scenarios and plans.
- Interact with stakeholders, developers, and SMEs to ensure design meets requirements.
- Plan new designs and optimize existing designs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to designers on the team.

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in UI/UX Design or similar role.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in design, visual communication, computer science or comparable work experience in business-to-business software applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Producing design solutions through wireframes, visual / graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and/or prototypes.
- Proficiency in desktop publishing programs (such as Adobe XD, InVision, Figma, etc.
- Competency in Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Involved in the design or modification of systems or software.
- Test for intuitively and experience.
- Investigate user experience of design requirements and user goals/objectives.
- Integrate ABS branding into design.
- Familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to a Manager, Director, or Executive role.
