Retail Security Officer

Shift Schedule: First Shift

Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional and observant Security Officer to provide retail security for a big box retail store in Winston-Salem. The officer will be responsible for conducting foot patrol around the property, standing at the entrance, ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and serving as a visible deterrent to theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular foot patrols across the entire property.

- Check doors, gates, and access points to ensure they are properly secured.

- Observe and report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.

- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or calls for service in a timely and professional manner.

- Complete detailed patrol and incident reports through the company’s reporting system after each visit.

- Provide a visible and professional security presence to deter criminal activity.

- Communicate effectively with dispatch, property management, and law enforcement when necessary.

- Maintain strong situational awareness and take initiative to resolve minor issues before they escalate.

Qualifications:

- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.

- Must be at least 21 years of age.

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

- Ability to remain alert and professional while patrolling multiple properties during a shift.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Must possess or be eligible for a valid security license (as required by local jurisdiction).

- Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods and work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Work Environment:
This role involves working independently walking and standing for the majority of the post. The Retail Security Officer represents First Class Security with every guest, ensuring that each visitor receives consistent, reliable, and professional service.
