Position Description & Qualifications
Serco is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the deployment, integration, administration, and sustainment of enterprise technology solutions within a secure and mission-focused environment. This role is responsible for supporting infrastructure, platform services, and information technology systems that enable critical customer operations.
Our team supports mission-critical programs by delivering reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions. The Systems Engineer will help ensure enterprise systems and services are available, integrated, and optimized to meet evolving operational needs. This role contributes to modernization efforts, platform improvements, technology refresh initiatives, and the ongoing sustainment of critical systems supporting customer objectives.
The Systems Engineer will support the design, integration, deployment, administration, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure and technology platforms.
As a Systems Engineer, you will:
- Integrate and support enterprise systems, infrastructure, and platform services.
- Administer Windows and Linux-bsed environments.
- Support virtualization, storage, networking, and compute resources.
- Perform system configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
- Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Troubleshoot and resolving infrastructure, platform, and application issues.
- Support technology modernization and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
- Participate in system testing, validation, implementation, and production deployment activities.
- Develop and maintaining technical documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Support automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency efforts.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and sustain technology solutions.
- Support cybersecurity, compliance, accreditation, and security-hardening activities.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced team members when required.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. OR a Master's degree a 6 years of experience .
- 8 years of systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related experience.
- An active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and SAP/SAR.
- Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and a strong DevSecOps background, including CI/CD pipelines, automated security scanning, infrastructure automation, and secure software delivery practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and platform environments.
- Previous experience with virtualization, networking, storage, and system integration technologies.
- Experience administering Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical systems.
- Ability to travel 10%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience supporting cloud, hybrid cloud, or modern infrastructure environments.
- Experience with automation and scripting tools.
- Previous experience with containerization or orchestration technologies.
- Experience supporting secure, regulated, or government environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, system hardening, and compliance frameworks.
- Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, AWS, Azure, or equivalent.
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler.

Salary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
