Student Services Event Specialist
📍 Burlington, VT in office
💲 $15.00 - $25.00/hour DOE
🕒 Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM **A weekend day may be required on occasion for an event .
📅 Temporary Assignment: 9/28 through End of Year with possibility of extension.
Do you enjoy event planning, student engagement, and working in a fast-paced environment? We're seeking a Student Services Event Specialist to support student recruitment, retention, and campus events for a well-respected higher education institution in Burlington.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support recruitment events, including Open Houses, Information Sessions, and Admitted Student programs.
- Work closely with Admissions to connect prospective students with campus resources, faculty, and staff.
- Plan and facilitate orientation activities, alumni events, student engagement programs, and retention initiatives.
- Support summer programs, internships, and new student opportunity development.
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact for students, families, and visitors.
- Update websites, recruitment materials, and promotional content.
- Coordinate branded marketing materials and outreach efforts.
- Assist with commencement planning and event execution.
- Provide administrative support to Student Services leadership and staff.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong event planning, organizational, communication, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Marketing, design, or website maintenance experience.
- Experience working within a large organization.
