The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Network Administrator II is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role supports routing, switching, wireless, firewall, voice, and network security technologies while partnering closely with Systems and Security teams to ensure network reliability, performance, and security. The Network Administrator II also supports network-related projects, disaster recovery planning, office expansion initiatives, and the operation of network-connected technologies across the organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and WAN connectivity.
- Implement, maintain, and support network security controls, firewall policies, network segmentation, and secure remote connectivity solutions.
- Support and maintain enterprise voice and unified communications technologies.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain physical security infrastructure, including network video recorders (NVRs), cameras, door access control equipment, and related networking components.
- Perform regular network health checks, traffic analysis, and performance tuning to ensure optimal network performance and stability.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including latency, packet loss, bandwidth utilization, and service disruptions.
- Monitor network traffic and security logs for anomalies and potential security incidents while coordinating with Security and Systems teams to investigate and address vulnerabilities.
- Manage IP address assignments, DHCP, DNS, VLAN configurations, and network topology documentation.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for network upgrades, circuit changes, hardware replacements, and support escalations.
- Support network failover testing, disaster recovery planning, and maintenance of network configuration documentation.
- Coordinate IT infrastructure and audiovisual (AV) deployments for new office openings and expansions, including planning, vendor management, and on-site support.
- Document network configurations, changes, standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Stay current with industry best practices in network security, performance optimization, and emerging technologies.
- Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.
- Other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless networking, VPNs, network segmentation, and software-defined networking concepts.
- Proficiency configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and WAN connectivity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose network issues, identify root causes, and optimize performance.
- Proficiency supporting voice and unified communications technologies, including call routing, voice gateways, session border controllers, and call quality management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Knowledge of network security and cybersecurity best practices, including firewall management, intrusion detection, network segmentation, secure remote access, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid networking concepts, including virtual networking, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network architectures.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, or the Meraki Dashboard.
- Knowledge of physical security technologies, including video surveillance systems, access control platforms, and supporting network infrastructure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

- Three years of experience administering enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewall management, wireless networking, and network connectivity services.
- Two years of experience managing network security, including firewall configuration, access control lists (ACLs), VPN administration, and secure remote connectivity solutions.
- Two years of experience troubleshooting network connectivity, performance, and availability issues in enterprise environments.
- Two years of experience supporting enterprise voice and unified communications technologies.
- Two years of experience supporting cloud-based or hybrid network infrastructure.

Preferences

- Experience with cloud-managed networking and infrastructure management platforms, such as Cisco Meraki.
- Experience with next-generation firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Secure Firewall, or similar solutions, including intrusion prevention, deep packet inspection, and zero-trust segmentation capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Voice, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Session Border Controllers (SBCs), Direct Routing, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure networking technologies, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Experience administering physical security systems, including CCURE 9000, Avigilon, Verkada, or similar video surveillance and access control platforms.

EDUCATION

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field . Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.
