Assistant Professor of Business

Viterbo University's Dahl School of Business is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business. This position begins August 2027. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-centered teaching, applied learning, ethical leadership, and the mission of Viterbo University, a Catholic, Franciscan institution. This position is based on campus in La Crosse, Wisconsin, with teaching assignments that may be offered face-to-face, online, or in a hybrid format.

Responsibilities:

- Teach 12 credit hours per semester, primarily in undergraduate Business, Management, Information Systems, and/or Ethics courses, in face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats. Courses may include:

- Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, Business Ethics, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems

- Other introductory, intermediate, or advanced undergraduate business courses aligned with the candidate's expertise

- Develop and deliver engaging undergraduate courses that emphasize critical thinking, ethical decision-making, leadership development, and application of business concepts to real-world organizational challenges.

- Use active and experiential learning approaches, including case studies, applied projects, simulations, team-based learning, community-based projects, and other appropriate instructional methods.

- Engage in academic advising, student mentoring, and support of students' academic, professional, and leadership development.

- Collaborate with business faculty and community partners to create and support experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students.

- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the continued development of the College of Business, Leadership, and Ethics undergraduate business programs.

- Engage with the regional business community and professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of business practices, emerging technologies, and developments in business and management.

- Engage in service to the department, School, and University.

- Participate in professional development, including scholarship, applied research, presentations, publications, consulting, or other forms of scholarly and professional engagement appropriate to the faculty member's discipline.

- Contribute to accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement activities.

- Support the mission and values of Viterbo University through teaching, service, mentoring, and engagement with the University community.

Qualifications:

- An earned Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Ph.D., Ed.D., or other appropriate terminal degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, Information Systems, Business Ethics, or a closely related field is preferred. Candidates who are ABD and have a clear path to terminal degree completion may also be considered.

- Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of business, management, organizational behavior, information systems, strategy, entrepreneurship, or ethics.

- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching and student learning.

- Professional experience in business, management, information systems, consulting, entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, or a related field is desirable.

- Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.

- Experience incorporating experiential learning, case studies, applied projects, simulations, or other active-learning approaches into undergraduate business education is desirable.

- Experience teaching face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats is preferred.

- Experience developing or teaching online courses and familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technologies is desirable.

- Evidence of scholarly or professional engagement appropriate to the candidate's qualifications and discipline is preferred.

- A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate student success, mentoring, ethical leadership, and values-based education is preferred.

- Must meet ACBSP accreditation requirements for faculty qualifications.
