We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner, C&I Planning and Development. to join our dynamic team at Mississauga, ON - Canada.

POSITION SUMMARY

Leads the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive multi-regional vehicle sales incentive portfolio and budget, leveraging market insights and performance analysis to drive sustained sales growth, improve market share, and achieve corporate business objectives.

A Day in the Life:

The following position function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  The position function statements reflect expectations of the fully trained, proficient incumbent who meets all performance criteria.

- Develop and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets/forecasts for new vehicle sales incentives. Lead presentation of monthly Incentives Proposal and Market Analysis to key stakeholders. Liaise with CMM team and senior management on a regular basis to present a detailed monthly sales budget by product (car line) with a focus on forecast accuracy. Manage the annual budget by developing forward looking budget projections based on input from CMM teams, finance and various other stakeholders.

- Work with cross functional teams to execute monthly incentive programs on a monthly basis.  Preparation meetings include individuals from Marketing, CRM, Finance, Sales Operations and IFS.  This individual will be responsible for carefully balancing the needs of various departments to ensure optimum program development that benefits all objectives (ie. Market share, IFS utilization, loyalty, etc.).

- Oversee the development and execution of all internal and external incentive communications, including bulletins, presentations, and support materials. Ensure the timely, accurate, and effective communication of all sales programs, plans, and incentives to regional head office teams and retailers, enabling seamless implementation and alignment across the organization.

- Plan, implement, and continuously optimize national and regional incentive programs by monitoring performance, analyzing results, and evaluating effectiveness against established objectives. Provide regular insights and recommendations to key stakeholders, including Finance, Marketing (CMM), and Sales, to support data-driven decision-making. Develop and enhance reporting tools, analytics, and processes to improve data management, strengthen analytical capabilities, and increase clarity and effectiveness of program communications.

- Prepare the monthly accrual workbook for costing and finance reviews. Oversee the monthly program incentive upload process and system preparation to ensure both VIMS and websites are updated with the correct programs.

- Oversee market analysis including review of competitive incentive programs and promotional activities using a variety of sources (i.e. Unhaggle, in-market advertisements & competitive websites).

- Support the execution of Lifecycle Management of models; Maturities & Pull-ahead Initiatives, and Renewal for returning Lease customers. Ad hoc studies and analysis related to future products, updating current lifecycle plans, and other senior management and executive requests.

Who We’re Looking for:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualification factors reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

Knowledge : The incumbent is required to have a business management, finance or engineering educational background or equivalent experience.  Minimum of 7 to 10 years in the automotive industry with 5+ years in Incentive Planning.  Retail/field sales experience is an asset. Strong quantitative and analytical skills.  Exceptional communications, interpersonal, and presentation skills are needed. Detailed user of Microsoft Office Products including Excel and PowerPoint.

Interpersonal Skills : The incumbent in this position requires a broad range of interpersonal skills to carry out the responsibilities of this position. These include Advocacy, effective active listening, the ability to communicate both complex and simple information clearly and with diplomacy, collaboration, diplomacy, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, moderation, and presentation skills in establishing/communicating plans and programs to sales team and management. Excellent presentation development and delivery skills are required.  These topics can be highly complex, sensitive and contentious.

Complexity and Problem Solving : Job-related problems are often non-routine and diverse, requiring market assessment analysis and creativity to identify potential solutions. For example, if Sales volume is below expectations, the incumbent must perform market and competitor analysis to determine the cause and recommend solutions to management.  Budget and market conditions are always changing and must be considered. Another example is lagging sales where strategies must be developed and implemented by the incumbent to meet or exceed targets.  Continue SWOT on the market(s) and by model is required to ensure that we are maximizing our opportunities.  Business case development and presentations for initiatives are required by executive management, which this incumbent would be a key participant.

Physical and Sensory Demands : The physical and sensory demands of the position are normal for an office environment and include telephone calls, and personal meetings, PC usage and data analysis.

Decision-making/Impact of the Position : The incumbent is expected to independently analyze market conditions, competitive activities, incentive performance, and budget utilization to develop recommendations for vehicle sales incentive programs. The role is responsible for managing a significant incentive budget, ensuring the accuracy of forecasts, reporting, program implementation, and communications. Decisions and recommendations directly impact sales performance, market share, budget management, retailer satisfaction, and the achievement of corporate objectives. Errors in analysis, forecasting, program execution, or communication could result in missed sales opportunities, financial variances, reduced program effectiveness, and negative impacts to retailer and customer experience. Management approval is required for overall incentive strategy, budget allocations, and major program changes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional overnight travel.  Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks while under constant pressure.

Salary Range:
$91,573.00 - $119,436.00
This compensation range represents the minimum to midpoint base salary rates at Nissan for jobs assigned to this particular grade level. Please note that an employee’s base salary may occasionally be set above the midpoint of the salary band for this grade level, in recognition of the employee’s unique skills, work experience, education, work location, or market conditions. Compensation decisions also consider internal equity and comparisons with the base salary rates of other employees with similar backgrounds working in comparable roles. Note: Bonus, benefits, and other forms of variable compensation are not included in the base-salary range shown above.
