About this role
Under the direct supervision of the charge nurse, assists with emergency outpatients and performs approved duties. Reports to the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, and/or Shift Supervisor.
Education :
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience :
- Experience in emergency department desired but not required. Previous experience as an Emergency Room Technician or Operating Room Technician is preferred. Current CPR review required. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Requires ability to work well with others and to function in stressful situations, along with the ability to perform some special skills and operate special equipment.
Skills Abilities :
- Minimum one year phlebotomy experience required, preferably in a hospital or health care setting. In lieu of one year experience, successful completion of an approved phlebotomy training program may be accepted.
