Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse Clinic setting, no weekends, no overnights, and no on call responsibilities! Location: St. Louis Missouri. $28 to $36/hr. Job Description The Surgical Oncology Nurse will serve as a key clinical resource for patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative follow-up. This role involves patient education, nurse triage, surgery scheduling, care coordination, and collaboration with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and clinical support staff. Responsibilities

- Partner directly with a Surgical Oncology physician in an HPB specialty practice.
- Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.
- Manage patient phone calls related to symptoms, recovery concerns, surgical questions, and care coordination.
- Perform high-volume nursing triage for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures.
- Manage surgeon block scheduling and operating room coordination.
- Complete surgical chart preparation, including review of imaging studies, laboratory results, pre-operative documentation, and insurance verification and authorization requirements.
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC.
- Assist with patient care coordination throughout the treatment journey.

Essential Skills

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous nursing experience in a clinical, specialty, or hospital setting.
- Experience in providing patient triage and clinical telephone support.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Experience documenting in an electronic medical record (EMR).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in surgical scheduling.
- Experience in Oncology, GI, digestive health, colorectal, or surgical specialty.
- Experience in post-operative patient care.
- High-volume nursing triage experience.

Work Environment Work closely with a Surgical Oncology Physician, an Advanced Practice Provider (NP), a Medical Assistant, and a Medical Secretary in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with strong support systems in place. The role offers an opportunity to gain specialized experience in Surgical Oncology and HPB care. It is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term career potential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
