Stryker is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems and subsystems for complex medical devices.

In this role, you will apply your electrical engineering expertise across design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will translate product and customer needs into engineering requirements and robust electrical designs while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

What You Will Do

Electrical Design and Development

- Design and develop electrical components, circuits, and subsystems for medical devices.
- Translate design inputs and system requirements into electrical engineering specifications and detailed designs.
- Develop, evaluate, and refine design concepts through analysis, prototyping, simulation, and bench testing.
- Apply advanced electrical test methods to evaluate component and subsystem performance.
- Investigate complex technical problems, identify potential solutions, and evaluate design alternatives against product and subsystem requirements.
- Conduct technical research, analysis, and engineering studies to support design decisions and product development.
- Assess system-level impacts and dependencies associated with electrical design choices.

Verification and Technical Execution

- Develop and execute test methods to evaluate electrical designs, components, and subsystems.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot design issues, and drive problems to root cause and resolution.
- Apply engineering analysis, modeling, simulation, and statistical methods as appropriate to support design decisions.
- Partner with other engineering disciplines to support subsystem and system integration.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned technical activities and independently prioritize work to meet project objectives.

Product Development and Compliance

- Apply applicable industry standards, engineering requirements, and test strategies throughout product development.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation supporting product development and the Design History File.
- Follow established design controls, risk management practices, and Quality Management System requirements.
- Apply an understanding of customer needs, intended use, and clinical workflows to engineering decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, Project Management, and other functions to support successful product development.
- Build effective relationships across technical disciplines and influence decisions through sound engineering judgment.
- Communicate technical information, design considerations, risks, and recommendations clearly to project stakeholders.
- Contribute to improvements in engineering processes, tools, methods, and development practices.

What You Will Need

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of applicable engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience designing and developing electrical components, circuits, or subsystems.
- Working knowledge of electrical design processes, electrical components, and manufacturing methods.
- Experience interpreting, analyzing, troubleshooting, and testing electrical designs.
- Experience with electrical prototyping and bench testing.
- Experience with CAD, CAE, circuit simulation, or other electrical design and analysis tools.
- Experience applying engineering analysis tools and statistical methods.
- Understanding of system architecture, system components, interfaces, and associated requirements.
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle and the system-level impact of electrical design decisions.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary products involving electrical, mechanical, software, or systems engineering.
- Experience with medical devices or another regulated or safety-critical product development environment.
- Familiarity with design controls, risk management, verification, and engineering documentation within a regulated development process.

- $102,600 - $171,000 USD Annual

Travel Percentage: 10%
