Purchasing Agent

**This is a direct hire position with one of our clients in Seattle, WA. This role will report onsite M-F with occasional remote work on Fridays at the managers discretion. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

Our client is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their growing team in Seattle, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who has some purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience and is looking to continue developing their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with our existing purchasing team member to support inventory procurement, vendor management, purchase order processing, inbound shipments, and inventory operations.

Responsibilities

- Create, process, and manage purchase orders.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and inventory requirements.
- Assist with inbound shipment tracking, consolidation, and reconciliation activities.
- Work closely with accounting to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.
- Partner with warehouse teams to ensure incoming inventory matches expected quantities and specifications.
- Support international purchasing activities involving suppliers and shipments from Europe and China.
- Maintain purchasing-related data within ERP and inventory management systems.
- Assist with inventory planning and preparation for seasonal business cycles, e-commerce demand, and wholesale fulfillment.
- Support procurement activities related to company trade shows and product samples.
- Develop strong vendor relationships and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Qualifications

- Approximately 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related business function.
- Experience working within an ERP system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and move work forward independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment.

Preferred

- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP).

- Experience with SalesPad or similar inventory management platforms.
- Purchasing or procurement experience within manufacturing, retail, consumer products, or inventory-driven businesses.
- Experience coordinating shipments, inventory replenishment, vendor communications, and receiving activities.
