Lead Chemical Operator, Cathode Manufacturing

Tesla is seeking energetic and highly motivated Lead Operators to join our Cathode production team. You will work with the Supervisor to run daily shift operations and provide S5-level technical leadership across the all plant areas. You will have the opportunity to coordinate the crew, own complex tasks independently, and set the standard for assignments, trials, permits, and handover quality. A strong drive to train others and solve problems on the floor will enhance your ability to support production operations while your flexibility and communication skills enhance your ability to be a team leader.

- Adhere to company policies of safety and conduct
- Oversee and troubleshoot field and console operations across all plant areas
- Ensure process stability, trial accuracy, and quality of production output on shift
- Help to coordinate, maintain, and complete shift assignments, and plant work
- Escalate issues to the Supervisor with solutions when necessary
- Support maintenance and Supervisor activities including Maintenance schedule review and resource allocation
- Train and provide technical leadership for operators and trainees on equipment and processes, and collaborate with the Supervisor, operators, and maintenance to complete the shift and deliver a quality handover

- High ownership experience in a chemical or cathode production setting
- Experience leading shift operations and covering Supervisor absence
- Able to interpret process information, procedures, and equipment/LOTO status across all plant areas
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams, and knowledge of scheduling on a rotating shift basis
- Experience with permitting, LOTO, isolations, RTO verification, and J5, and knowledge of JIRA trial execution and sample handling a plus
- Adhere to company policies of safety and conduct, and oversee and troubleshoot field and console operations across all plant areas
- Ensure process stability, trial accuracy, and quality of production output on shift, and help to coordinate, maintain, and complete shift assignments, MTL, and plant work
