Job Summary:
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Fiscal Coordinator 2 position for the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families within the College of Health at Oregon State University (OSU).
Founded in 2008 with a generous donation from the Oregon philanthropist Hallie E. Ford, the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families fosters interdisciplinary collaboration with four research cores Early Childhood, Healthy Eating and Active Living, Youth and Young Adults, and Parenting and Family Life. With the continuous and accelerated growth of our research projects, centers and programs, the Hallie Ford Center is experiencing rapid expansion and transformation. Under the direction of the center director, the fiscal coordinator 2 position will provide highly detailed fiscal support to multiple centers and programs within the Hallie Ford Center (HFC). This includes focused analytical support to management team utilizing large datasets and complex multi system processes. This position will provide input and assistance in streamlining processes of financial records/reporting for the various centers/programs as well as daily oversight of the fiscal operations of the center and will play a critical role by performing analysis, auditing, projections, budget management, and recommending financial solutions. This position is responsible for managing the daily administrative oversight for the fiscal business of the Center by providing planning and management of fiscal and operational support resources. This position also provides leadership for activities such as accounts receivable and payable, multiple fund and fee structure accounts, and reporting and auditing functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Streamlines processes of financial records/reporting for the various centers/programs in the HFC
- Daily oversight of the fiscal operations of the center
- Performs analysis, auditing, projections, budget management, and recommending financial solutions
- Responsible for managing the daily administrative oversight for the fiscal business of the Center by providing planning and management of fiscal and operational support resources.
- Provides leadership for activities such as accounts receivable and payable, multiple fund and fee structure accounts, and reporting and auditing functions.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Twenty four (24) quarter, 16 semester or 240 clock hours of accounting courses and three years of *accounting experience; OR a CPA or PA certificate and three years of *accounting experience.
*Accounting experience must include at least 8 of the following:
creating policies and procedures for fiscal operations;
assuring that accounting system reflects program/agency operations;
analyzing impact of regulations/changes on accounting budgeting systems;
assuring fiscal transactions comply with accepted accounting practices, policies, and procedures;
formulating and recommending corrective actions as well as accounting system improvements;
developing and monitoring system generated reports,
preparing and distributing a variety of fiscal reports;
applying computer spreadsheets and accounting software;
responsibility for an organization's total accounting functions;
knowledge of governmental and fund accounting;
analyzing and interpreting financial data;
applying audit standards to internal procedures;
communicating technical material orally and in writing;
solving accounting system and application problems;
preparing budgetary and GAAP financial statements;
ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and administrative policies.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, Cost Accounting Standards, governmental and fund accounting.
- Experience with multiple fund types (E&G, Statewide Public Service, Auxiliary Enterprise, Designated Operations, etc.).
- Knowledge of WorkDay and CORE.
# Working Conditions/Schedule:
Work is done in hybrid work environment. Typical schedule is 9-5pm.
Salary Range:
Min $33.11- Max $50.78/hour.
