POSITION SUMMARY:

Develops, establishes, and manages global process of sourcing, selecting, and qualifying components used in the company’s technology. Align the latest commodity road map into our product and technologies development strategies to keep our competitive edges in the market. Focus on identifying and selecting alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost, and improving quality and reliability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the function as global component engineering acroess different design and production sites/production locations and development of engineers, determining new and alternate sources of qualified electrical and mechanical components.

- Support the technologies and component engineering alignement among different internal design teams.

- Lead the team to support the product development in achieveing the cost reduction initatiive.

- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.

- Establish and implement consistent processes across operations to ensure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc.

- In depth BOM reviews according to development stages in covering Single and Sole source, Component Life Cycle, Preferred Part and Manufacturer usage.

- Involves Design, Component Engineering, Commodity Management, Factory, Quality and Document Management.

- Create and lead the Material Lifecycle Program Management (MLPM) function by establishing and driving end-to-end lifecycle governance for materials and components, including End-of-Life (EOL), obsolescence management, and related lifecycle initiatives; partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business teams to execute lifecycle strategies, mitigate supply risks, ensure product continuity, and implement governance frameworks, processes, and roadmap deliverables aligned with organizational objectives.

- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

- Establish and oversee process to evaluate supplier change notification and qualify changes, as needed.

- Ensure operation and data intergraty of component data management system including qualification.

- Develops guidelines/procedures for opreation standardization.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Design Centre, need frequent travel to design teams and factories.

The role is open for hiring across Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

EXPERIENCE:

- 10 years’ experience in engineering preferred.

- 5+ years supervisory experience managing an engineering team or relevant technical or materials team.

- Experience in a multinational environment, preferably having supported multiple business operations.

- Experience within a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.

- Knowledge in power electronics or materials science is a plus.

EDUCATION:

Degree or above in engineering or equivalent; electronic and electrical or material is preferred, engineering discipline also applicable
