Electrical Design Engineer – HVDC Test Center

Location: Ludvika, Sweden (On-site preferred)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an HVDC Test Center development team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and testing of next-generation HVDC technology by designing electrical systems, supporting installation and commissioning, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design electrical hardware for HVDC test facilities.
- Develop plant circuit diagrams, test circuit diagrams, layouts, wiring lists, and material lists.
- Participate in cross-functional engineering teams developing new test circuits.
- Support installation and commissioning of upgraded test facilities.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure technical requirements and standards are met.
- Work closely with engineering teams across different projects and functions.
- Plan and organize engineering activities together with the project team.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and technical development.

Requirements (Must Have)

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a similar technical discipline) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience, including leadership and/or project responsibility; alternatively, another relevant technical degree with more than 15 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interest and experience in electrical system design and electrical schematics.
- Experience designing electrical systems and technical documentation.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Ability to work primarily on-site in Ludvika.
