The Business Process Improvement Analyst sits within the Enterprise Transformation Office. This role works under the direction of the Director of Process Transformation to engage with Service Lines or other functions across the business to diagnose root causes of pain points, understand and map current-state processes, define performance metrics and translate findings into actionable improvement recommendations including; process redesign, automation AI-enabled solutions, and draft relevant requirements.

Engagements span the full range from targeted improvements within a single business team to larger, enterprise-wide initiatives. The analyst can engage across the firm, including Tax, Assurance, Advisory and Outsourced Services Service Lines, as well as other operational teams, wherever process improvement work is needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Support ETO business analysts & engage as directed with business unit stakeholders to identify pain points, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities through interviews, workshops, and process observation.

- Map & analyze current-state ("as-is") processes using ETO standard notation (swim lanes, SIPOC, value stream) and validate with process owners.

- Document data flows and system touchpoints as part of process mapping, particularly where they inform automation, integration, or AI-enabled recommendations.

- Design and support the implementation of process performance metrics and KPIs (leading and lagging indicators) to baseline performance and track the impact of improvements.

- Develop future-state ("to-be") process recommendations, including process redesign, automation, and AI/technology-enabled solutions.

- Translate discovery sessions and stakeholder input into structured requirements, process documentation, and decision-ready materials for the Director and business sponsors.

- Understand what’s needed to develop credible business cases for recommended changes, including effort, cost, and expected benefits, and work to gather relevant data/information as part of the initiative documentation.

- Contribute reusable process artifacts (templates, capability maps, documentation standards) to the Process Center of Excellence to promote consistency across projects and across the firm.

- Act as a bridge between business and technology teams by clearly articulating business requirements and validating that proposed solutions address the root problem.

- Track and report on the status of improvement initiatives, flagging risks and dependencies to the Director.

- Promote a continuous improvement mindset within partner business units.

What Success Looks Like

- Process maps and requirements are accurate, validated by stakeholders, and reused without rework.

- KPIs/metrics are in place and actively tracked within [60–90] days of engagement start.

- Improvement recommendations are adopted by business sponsors and show measurable impact against baseline.

- Documentation meets Process COE standards and is contributed back to the shared library.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, or related field.

- 4-8 years of experience in business process analysis, operations, consulting, or transformation roles, with demonstrated ownership of process work (not just support/documentation).

- Proven ability in writing business, data, & technical requirements and the development of wireframes to clearly articulate solutions

- Proven proficiency in process mapping (current- and future-state) - able to independently run mapping sessions and produce validated, accurate artifacts with minimal oversight.

- Confident engaging business unit stakeholders directly - able to ask the right questions, surface real pain points, and read between the lines of what's said versus what's actually broken.

- Demonstrated ability to recognize and shape improvement opportunities - not just document "as-is" state, but connect root causes to practical recommendations (process, tech, automation, or AI).

- Experience defining and standing up KPIs/metrics; familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, BPMN, or similar frameworks preferred.

- Strong analytical skills - comfortable working with process and operational data to identify root causes and quantify impact.

- Ability to manage time across multiple projects and escalate when help is required.

- Working knowledge of process/workflow tools (e.g., Visio, Miro) and data/reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to automation or AI-enabled process solutions (RPA, GenAI use cases, workflow tools).

- Process improvement certification (Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, or equivalent).

- Experience in a shared services or enterprise transformation function.
