Sr Business Analyst

Looking for a dynamic Business Analyst (BA) to join our BI COE team. This role acts as a crucial bridge between Business and IT , translating strategic business needs into effective data solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of domain understanding, analytical thinking, and technical acumen , with expertise in Power BI and SQL to provide direction and support to our BI development team.

You will play a key role in converting business vision into actionable analytics solutions , ensuring that dashboards and insights align with organizational goals and add measurable value.

Job Purpose:

Be an effective bridge between Business and the Data IT team:

- Responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth
- Establish business needs with function leads and Management teams
- Defining new data collection and analysis processes with IT team
- Assist with data standardization and defining data governance norms
- Ensuring data accuracy and integrity from a business stand point

Responsibilities:

- Have and build adequate knowledge of the Business, the routes to market, competition, organic and in-organic avenues of Growth etc. forefront of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Understanding the business need behind an initiative. Role also involves looking at the bigger picture and determining how the initiative at hand has an impact on other projects/ programs/ initiatives.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the BI/IT team to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Work closely with business functions (Sales, Finance, Delivery, Operations) to define KPIs, success metrics, and reporting needs.
- Guide Power BI developers and SQL engineers by providing business context, data definitions, and logic validations.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, user-friendly dashboards and insights that drive business outcomes.
- Perform data validation, UAT coordination, and gap analysis.
- Drive adoption and change management efforts by training business users and ensuring value realization from analytics solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI delivery processes and data governance practices.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in BI/Data Analytics or related domains.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, and Delivery functions.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI – must be able to review dashboards, provide feedback, and help refine visualizations.
- Proficient in SQL – able to query, analyze, and guide data modeling or backend logic.
- Experience in Python will be plus
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and communicate the “why” behind data initiatives.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with agile/scrum methodology is a plus.
