The Senior Quality Technician performs detailed inspections and quality checks during manufacturing to ensure products consistently meet defined specifications and quality standards. This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify and document nonconformances, verify documentation, and support corrective and preventive actions. The Senior Quality Technician uses precision measurement tools, supports first article and setup approvals, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to applicable quality and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on manufactured products to verify compliance with defined specifications and quality standards.
- Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to accurately measure parts and components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria.
- Conduct quality checks during manufacturing operations to monitor product conformity and process performance.
- Identify, document, and report nonconformances, defects, and deviations from specifications in a clear and accurate manner.
- Verify that all required documentation, records, and inspection reports are complete, accurate, and compliant with quality requirements.
- Support first article inspections and setup approvals to ensure new or revised processes meet quality expectations before full production.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor process stability and identify trends or potential issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on inspection results, process capability, and quality trends.
- Assist in calibration activities by using calibrated measurement tools correctly and reporting any issues with equipment accuracy.
- Coach and lead other quality technicians by sharing expertise, providing guidance on inspection methods, and promoting best practices.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient inspection activities and high-quality standards.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience with quality control activities in a production setting.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and its application to inspection.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) for monitoring and analyzing process performance.
- Ability to identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and inspection results clearly.
- Capability to coach and lead other technicians, providing guidance and support on quality practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and recording data.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
- Commitment to following established quality procedures and safety requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline.
- Background in engineering or manufacturing processes that supports effective interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with calibration concepts and proper use of calibrated measurement equipment.
- Experience participating in corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support root cause analysis.
- Solid communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and documenting inspection outcomes.

The Senior Quality Technician works on or near production floors, using calibrated measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers, and regularly reviews engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications. This is a Permanent position based out of Horsham, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $80000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
