About this role

We are seeking a Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist to join the team onsite in Ruther Glen, VA. This highly visible role supports a growing manufacturing workforce and is ideal for an HR professional who wants to spend time with employees and leaders on the floor, resolve meaningful workplace issues, and have a direct impact on employee experience and operational performance.

What You'll Do as the Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist:

- Serve as a trusted Employee Relations resource for frontline employees, supervisors, and operational leaders
- Maintain an active presence throughout the manufacturing campus and build relationships across the workforce
- Conduct objective workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy concerns, conduct issues, and other ER matters
- Counsel employees and facilitate conflict resolution when workplace issues arise
- Coach supervisors through performance management, documentation, corrective action, disciplinary matters, and separations
- Interpret HR policies and help employees and managers understand how they apply to workplace situations
- Recognize sensitive or complex employee matters and escalate appropriately when additional HR support is needed
- Partner with leadership to promote consistent, fair, and compliant employment practices
- Support annual performance reviews and participate in employee evaluations as appropriate
- Coordinate and facilitate employee and supervisor training
- Support new-hire orientation and onboarding activities
- Help employees understand benefits and support open enrollment communications
- Conduct exit interviews, identify trends behind voluntary turnover, and recommend retention strategies
- Support employee engagement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve the overall employee experience
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and documentation when handling sensitive employee matters
- Stay current on relevant employment laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements

Must-Haves as the Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist:

- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Ability to work onsite from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- 2+ years of substantive Human Resources or Employee Relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Hands-on experience conducting workplace investigations
- Experience resolving employee concerns and workplace conflicts
- Ability to coach supervisors and managers through performance and employee-relations issues
- Working knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and compliance
- Confidence handling difficult and sensitive conversations professionally
- Strong employee-facing communication and relationship-building skills
- Sound judgment and ability to independently assess workplace situations
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information
- Comfort working directly with frontline employees in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, and general HR technology
- Ability to travel occasionally, up to approximately 15%

Nice-to-Haves as the Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist:

- HR or Employee Relations experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering, industrial, logistics, or a similar environment
- Experience supporting a large hourly or frontline workforce
- Significant workplace investigation and conflict-resolution experience
- Experience developing employee engagement or retention initiatives
- Experience partnering with strong operational leaders and frontline supervisors
- Background working in an environment where HR maintains a regular presence on the production floor
