About the role:
The General Manager, U.S. Oncology will lead the development and execution of the U.S. commercial strategy for the oncology portfolio. This leader will build and lead a high-performing commercial organization, establish the operating model required to support current and future launches, and ensure commercial priorities are aligned with enterprise strategy, product development, market access, and launch readiness.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the General Manager will combine strategic leadership with operational execution in a dynamic and evolving environment. The role has accountability for U.S. commercial performance, organizational development, budget management, and cross- functional collaboration.
Your contribution:
U.S. Commercial Strategy and Execution
- Develop, present, and execute a comprehensive U.S. commercial strategy aligned to anticipated product launches, market dynamics, and company objectives.
- Define strategic objectives, key initiatives, operating plans, milestones, and performance measures for the U.S. commercial organization.
- Regularly assess and adapt commercial plans in response to changing market conditions, customer insights, competitive activity, and portfolio evolution.
- Lead U.S. launch planning and commercialization activities for oncology products in partnership with relevant internal functions.
- Develop appropriate market access, reimbursement, and pricing strategies for the U.S.healthcare environment, consistent with company strategy and applicable laws and policies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy organizations, payers, providers, and other relevant partners, in accordance with applicable compliance requirements.
Organizational Leadership
- Build, scale, and lead the U.S. commercial organization, including organizational design, talent acquisition, capability building, succession planning, and performance development.
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, ethical conduct, and high performance.
- Lead with clarity and purpose during organizational growth and change, balancing strategic priorities with timely operational decision-making.
- Identify, develop, and retain diverse talent and create development opportunities across the organization.
- Hold accountability for the U.S. commercial budget and contribute to P&L management,resource prioritization, and investment decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Establish effective cross-functional governance and collaboration with headquarters and U.S.-based partners, including R&D, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, Compliance, HR, and Product Launch teams.
- Ensure commercial perspectives and U.S. market insights are appropriately incorporated into product-development, launch, and lifecycle-planning decisions.
- Foster a deep understanding within the organization of product profiles, development plans, and the U.S. oncology market.
- Support the establishment of an appropriate U.S. commercial infrastructure, including evaluation of office and operational requirements in the New Jersey area, as applicable.
Commercial Excellence and Innovation
- Apply data, customer insights, and digital capabilities to strengthen commercial decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Promote responsible use of digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate, in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.
- Monitor relevant trends in oncology, market access, commercialization, and the broader biopharmaceutical environment to identify opportunities and risks.
A good match:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience required.
- At least 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial organizations.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience leading U.S. commercial strategy, marketing, sales, market access, launch, or general management activities.
- Demonstrated experience successfully commercializing pharmaceutical or biotechnology products in the United States, including launch planning and execution.
- Experience in oncology commercialization or another relevant specialty-care market.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, manage complex budgets, and make sound, data-informed business decisions.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including payer, provider, reimbursement, and access considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, patient focus, quality, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business, medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience building or scaling a U.S. commercial organization in a growth-stage, launch focused, or rapidly evolving biopharmaceutical company.
- Experience with personalized medicine, precision oncology, companion diagnostics, or complex biomarker-driven products.
- Experience leading multiple product launches and/or supporting commercialization across multiple markets.
- Experience implementing commercial-excellence capabilities, including analytics, digital engagement, and responsible application of AI-enabled tools.
- Experience engaging with a broad range of U.S. healthcare stakeholders, including payers, provider organizations, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy organizations.

Your benefits and remuneration:
Expected Pay Range: $362,800/year to $446,600/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
