Custody Product Manager (Senior Vice President)

Team/Role Overview

The Product Management Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.

What you’ll do:

- Provide strategic direction and accountability for the full European Custody franchise across the Single Legal Vehicle. Act as the primary product representative for Citibank Europe Plc at senior governance forums, regulatory interactions, and client engagements.
- Hold full product ownershi p for Citi Ireland incorporating the Single Legal Vehicle across 11 European markets, ensuring product coherence, commercial integrity, and regulatory compliance. Maintain the Citibank Europe Plc booking model product catalogue for Custody, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the firm's legal entity and product strategy.
- AI-Driven Product Efficiency & Innovation:  
Proactively identify, evaluate, prioritize, and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) opportunities within product development, market strategy, and operational processes. The overarching goal is to minimise manual product efforts, enabling teams to concentrate on core strategic initiatives that deliver tangible value for Citi and its clients. Actively seek AI synergies across:
    Product development workflows and documentation.
    Client reporting and service delivery.
    Root cause analysis and operational issue resolution.
    Competitive intelligence and business development support.
- Business Growth & AI Integration. Drive and support new business growth across the European Custody franchise, providing product support for business development activities including competitor intelligence, RFIs, RFPs, roadshows, and due diligence. Actively seek and apply AI tools and intelligence to streamline these processes, enhancing efficiency and quality of output. Identify and support sales opportunities — including take-away campaigns and domestic client opportunities — and manage client implementations and onboardings.
- Cluster Financial Management. Own and manage financial performance across the European Custody product portfolio. Report monthly performance against plan, driving accountability for P&L, cost management, revenue tracking, and efficiency opportunities including allocation saves. This requires a deep understanding of financial principles, proactive engagement with financial departments, and the creation of insightful management reports to identify and lead revenue and expense initiatives.
- DORA Management & Central Bank of Ireland Engagement. Manage the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) requirements for the Custody product function with direct engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), ensuring full compliance and readiness across all applicable Custody activities.
- Operational Resilience. Lead operational resilience strategy and execution for Custody across Europe, ensuring robust frameworks to maintain critical service continuity and meet regulatory expectations across all 11 CEP markets.
- Risk Event Coordination — IBRC. Coordinate all risk events with the Internal Business Risk Committee (IBRC) across Europe, acting as the primary product liaison to ensure timely escalation, documentation, and resolution.
- Product Owner — Remediation, Issues & CAP Management. Drive remediation efforts across European Custody as product owner, including management of open issues and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) through to full resolution.
- Recovery & Resolution Ownership. Act as Recovery and Resolution product lead for Custody in Europe, ensuring appropriate plans, documentation, and escalation pathways are maintained and regularly tested.
- Principal Delegate — Governance Forums. Serve as Principal Delegate for multiple governance forums and management control meetings in respect of Custody as it relates to Citibank Europe Plc, representing the product function at senior levels across the organisation.
- European Strategy for Custody. Provide substantive input into the regional strategy for Custody, working collaboratively across product, technology, and operations to position Citi's European franchise for sustainable growth. Represent Citi in market meetings and industry working groups, actively engaging with digital and AI initiatives to influence market harmonisation and the adoption of agreed regional/global standards.
- Team Coordination & MBR Leadership. Lead European team coordination across Custody product functions, including chairing Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) to track performance, resolve issues, and align priorities.
- Tech & Ops Principal Point of Contact — CSC. Serve as the primary product coordination point and principal contact for Technology and Operations in the Custody Service Centre (CSC), ensuring alignment between product requirements and operational delivery.
- Client Asset Lead — Product. Serve as the product lead for Client Assets across Europe, ensuring compliance with client asset protection frameworks and regulatory obligations, and maintaining robust governance processes.

What we’ll need from you

- Strategic Vision and Aptitude for Artificial Intelligence (AI): Demonstrated ability to identify, explore, and leverage AI technologies to create new product functionalities, optimize processes, and gain competitive insights. Proactive in seeking AI synergies and opportunities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in technological innovation, particularly in AI.
- Relevant experience in Product Management in securities clearing and settlement, capital markets, market infrastructures, T2S platform, local tax, and European capital markets regulation.
- Demonstrated understanding of Global and Local Custody product structures, legal entity frameworks, and cross-border market dynamics, ideally within a European single legal vehicle or multi-market environment.
- Knowledge of securities clearing and settlement, capital markets, Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs), T2S platform, local tax frameworks, and European capital markets regulation.
- Deep familiarity with the European regulatory environment, including DORA, Client Asset regulations (MiFID II, CSDR), and interactions with the Central Bank of Ireland or equivalent competent authority.
- Proven experience in product ownership and remediation management, including management of Issues, CAPs, and risk frameworks in a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience of financial performance management, including P&L oversight, monthly financial reporting, and budget planning in a product leadership role.
- Functional experience in marketing, product development, and client delivery.

- Demonstrated ability to identify, explore, and leverage AI technologies to create new product functionalities, optimise processes, and gain competitive insights.
- Proactive in seeking AI synergies and opportunities across product development, operational efficiency, and business development workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in technological innovation, particularly in AI and its application to financial services and custody operations.
- Ability to assume franchise ownership: issues and scenarios will vary, and the ability to react quickly to address, adjust, and remediate is imperative.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to build internal consensus on strategy and execution and to establish the requisite rapport with top client accounts.
- Track record of cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Finance, with the credibility to lead across matrix structures and global organisations.
- Exceptional team coordination skills, with experience driving MBRs and managing distributed European teams through periods of change and transformation.
- Familiarity with Operational Resilience and Recovery & Resolution requirements as applicable to custodians operating across European jurisdictions.
- Communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the product function effectively at senior stakeholder, regulatory, and governance forums.
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise communication across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements, both in a supervised and unsupervised capacity
