SUMMARY: The Senior Key Account Specialist is responsible for building strategic relationships and leveraging sales techniques to drive revenue and growth for Kellstrom Aerospace. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities, developing market penetration strategies, and fostering business relationships to achieve our revenue and margin objectives in the dynamic aviation industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage business relationship as a key liaison between customer and Kellstrom Materials internal departments.
- Continuous research of industry, market trends and product, for use as sales leads, market plans and development pertinent to Kellstrom sales objectives
- Identify customer opportunities and clearly communicate findings to appropriate Kellstrom associates. To include assisting USM team to vet opportunities for sales of USM material opportunities with data collection.
- Speaks with regular and prospective customers to solicit orders by phone. Discuss suitability of different types of surplus material and parts to meet customers requirements and evaluate forecast needs.
- Enter sales inquiries, quotes, and orders. Using Managements criteria ensures efficiency and timeliness of sales from initial contact to closure of transaction and customer service follow-up.
- Prepare reports on business transactions and sales calls.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers to close package opportunities and develop customers.
- Maintains current assigned customers.
- Develop ongoing customer service improvements.
- Reviews and updates open (backlog) orders.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, quality, etc. to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Interface with internal customers.
- Manages responsibility for Sales and Support activity domestically and internationally.
- Assist Credit and Collection on past due invoices.
- Ensure decisions made on disposition of nonconforming products adhere to Kellstroms quality procedures.
- Travel as required based on business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree
OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of relevant/technical work experience.
- 3 years of experience in sales or the aviation industry.
- Analytical mindset: Proficient in working with mathematical and financial concepts such as PBIT and ROI. Able to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving: Skilled at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions and handle abstract and concrete variables. Proven negotiation skills and a focus on maintaining corporate profitability goals.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management.
- Ability to speak a second language a plus.
