Location: Newberg, OR (Hybrid) Pay: $35-$37/hour Duration: 6-Month Contract Schedule: Hybrid after training (Onsite Tuesday-Thursday, Remote Monday & Friday) Description Are you looking to grow your purchasing career with a well-established manufacturing company known for its positive culture and long-term stability? We are seeking a Buyer to join a collaborative purchasing team supporting production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll help ensure materials, supplies, and services are available to support ongoing production needs. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to manage purchase orders, monitor inventory, track material availability, and help keep production running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing experience who enjoys working cross-functionally and wants to continue building their procurement career.

What You'll Do

- Create and manage purchase orders for materials, supplies, and services
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability to support production requirements
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, lead times, delivery schedules, and quality expectations
- Support production planning by providing updates on material availability and potential shortages
- Help achieve department goals related to cost savings, quality, and on-time delivery
- Research new products, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and waste reduction

What We're Looking For

- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing or buying experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- ERP/MRP system knowledge and hands-on experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Associate degree preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus

Nice to Have

- Supply Chain Management education
- Inventory planning experience
- Experience supporting medium to high-volume manufacturing operations

Schedule Details

- Start time can be 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM
- Hybrid schedule after training: Onsite Tuesday through Thursday
- Remote Monday and Friday

- Friday half-days available, or candidates may choose a standard 5x8 schedule
- Local candidates preferred as the position may require additional onsite support in the future

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
