The Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager who is customer-focused, dependable, and an effective team leader to support daily retail operations and ensure an outstanding shopping and donation experience.

This is an opportunity to lead store operations, coach team members, drive sales performance, and contribute to a mission that transforms lives through the power of work.

What You'll Bring

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- One year of retail sales experience or equivalent, including at least six months in a lead sales associate capacity.

- Experience operating cash registers and handling cash transactions.

- Strong customer service, communication, and team leadership skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English; basic Spanish preferred.

- Basic math skills and the ability to learn store procedures and systems.

What You'll Do

- Oversee store operations in the Store Manager's absence.

- Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing training to store team members.

- Deliver exceptional customer and donor service.

- Assist customers with product selections and complete sales transactions.

- Perform opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and bank deposit functions.

- Monitor sales floor presentation, merchandise rotation, and markdowns.

- Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and safe for customers, donors, employees, and visitors.

- Identify donated items suitable for e-commerce sales.

- Prepare donations and merchandise transfers to the processing plant.

- Communicate operational concerns, safety issues, and customer concerns to store leadership.

- Support staff performance discussions and provide feedback to the Store Manager.

- Assist with donor intake and donation processing as needed.

- Perform sanitizing, housekeeping, and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.

- Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 25 pounds.

- Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and use material handling equipment such as carts, racks, and hand trucks.

- Ability to use cash registers, computers, and other retail equipment.

- Normal or corrected vision, hearing, and communication abilities sufficient to perform essential job functions.
