About this role
Primary Purpose
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Rendering plant. Responsible for receiving raw materials as well as timely loading for customers.
Work Schedule
Sunday–Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a rotation to Thursday–Sunday every four months.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitoring and supervising activities and executing daily initiatives to meet operational, environmental and safety goals.
- Troubleshooting operational issues and having the knowledge to take appropriate action(s).
- Training, retention, development, direction and support to the Rendering employees. Overseeing continuous cross-training programs to build competencies and add breadth and depth to the team.
- Completing daily operational reports and monitoring completed reports, checking for accuracy and taking any corrective action as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field.
- On-the-job training (OJT).
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated supervisory/management experience.
- 3 – 5 years’ Rendering experience.
- Preventive Controllers Qualified Individual (PCQI) – risk-based prevention system recognized by FDA.
- Must be able to make sound decisions as it related to plant, safety, environmental and product quality.
- Must have a technical understanding of plant operation software, equipment and process.
- This position is available 1 shift out of 4.
- Maintains flexibility to help supervise other shifts as needed
