Custodial Services Worker

POSITION SUMMARY

Sodexo is seeking a Custodial Services Worker to join its team supporting custodial operations at Huston-Tillotson University (HT) in Austin, Texas.

This position is employed by Sodexo and assigned to provide custodial services at Huston-Tillotson University. The successful candidate will work as part of Sodexo's on-site custodial services team and will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for HT students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

What Youll Do

As a Custodial Services Worker, you will provide high-quality cleaning and custodial services throughout the Huston-Tillotson University campus. You will help ensure that classrooms, offices, residence areas, common spaces, restrooms, and other campus facilities are clean, orderly, and ready for use.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform routine cleaning and custodial services throughout assigned areas of campus, including classrooms, offices, residence halls, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and other University facilities.

- Complete scheduled cleaning tasks and maintain assigned areas according to Sodexo and University standards.

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and clean floors, surfaces, fixtures, restrooms, and other areas as assigned.

- Empty trash and recycling and properly dispose of waste according to established procedures.

- Clean and maintain high-touch surfaces to support a healthy campus environment.

- Replenish restroom and custodial supplies as needed.

- Report maintenance, safety, security, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

- Safely operate and maintain custodial equipment and use cleaning products in accordance with established safety procedures.

- Maintain a professional and courteous presence when interacting with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and University personnel.

- Follow all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and University procedures.

- Attend scheduled shifts consistently and arrive on time and prepared to work.

- Perform other custodial and related duties as assigned based on campus needs.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will be reliable, hardworking, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- Previous custodial or housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, orderly spaces.

- Professional and respectful communication with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and coworkers.

- Ability to safely use custodial equipment and cleaning products.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks associated with custodial work.

- Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, or other scheduled periods as campus operations require.

- Must be dependable and demonstrate consistent attendance.

SUPERVISION

- This position reports to the Sodexo Facilities Director

SALARY RANGE

- $16.00 per hour

POSITION STATUS

- Varying shifts, days, and hours; open availability preferred. Specific schedules will be discussed during the interview process.
