Job Summary

The Senior Logistics Operations Manager will launch and lead a strategically important vehicle logistics program, with the expectation of expanding oversight to additional facilities as the program grows. This role carries shared responsibility for the site's profit and loss, and is accountable for standing up daily operations, building the team, and establishing strong client and stakeholder relationships from day one. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on building an operation and scaling it over time.

Responsibilities

- Stand up and lead day-to-day logistics operations at a site from initial launch through steady-state

- Build staffing plans; hire, onboard, and develop supervisors, managers, and frontline teams

- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the client and internal leadership throughout program launch and beyond

- Direct and oversee all operational management within the logistics unit, including shared P&L accountability

- Monitor efficiency by reviewing costs, equipment use, and revenue performance

- Design and implement processes and workflows suited to a first-of-its-kind program

- Collaborate with terminal and partner-site operations to maximize capacity utilization

- Ensure timely, efficient vehicle delivery and resolve client issues

- Share key updates with leadership on staffing, inventory, budgets, revenue, and risk

- Lead the transition to additional facilities as the program scales, replicating successful processes at each site

- Oversee staff use of company credit cards to ensure compliance with company policy

- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency

- Leverage technology to enhance performance and profitability

- Support programs that attract and retain carrier and driver partners

- Mentor supervisors and managers to support their growth

- Promote the use of company technologies, products, and services internally and externally

Requirements

- Strong leadership and negotiation skills, with demonstrated comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments

- Experience launching or standing up operations, sites, or programs strongly preferred

- Effective people management abilities

- Experience with process improvement and building processes from the ground up

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Commitment to safety and a positive work ethic

- Ability to foster a positive work environment through clear and supportive communication

- Sound decision-making based on KPIs, service needs, financial factors, client relationships, and capacity

- Ability to develop and manage budgets

- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, including with external client stakeholders

- Willingness to travel to, and eventually support, additional locations as the program expands

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree preferred, along with at least 7 years of management experience in the transportation industry, or 5+ years of leadership experience in finished vehicle transportation

- Experience launching sites, programs, or client accounts strongly preferred

- Proficient with technology, including transportation management systems, load boards, routing and dispatch tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations

- Prior experience operating within or alongside a client's on-site facility is a plus
