Position Summary

The Director of Marketing is a senior leadership position responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the overall marketing strategy for The Biltmore Hotel. This position serves as a key leader in strengthening brand awareness, driving guest engagement, supporting revenue generation, and ensuring consistency across all marketing and communications initiatives.

The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across digital, print, social media, public relations, promotional campaigns, partnerships, events, and other consumer-facing channels. The position will work closely with executive leadership, hotel operations, sales, food & beverage, revenue management, and other departments to identify opportunities and develop marketing initiatives that support the overall business objectives of each property.

The Director will oversee the development and quality of all marketing collateral and brand communications, ensuring that materials consistently reflect the standards, positioning, and visual identity of The Biltmore. This position will also manage relationships with external agencies, creative partners, vendors, and other marketing resources.

The successful candidate will combine strong strategic thinking with creative vision, exceptional communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

- Develop design concepts and preparing rough layouts of the concepts based on the needs of the requisitioning department.
- Develop artwork for all corporate Point of Sale material (ie. flyers, brochures, signs, posters, menus, digital graphics), take a detailed brief from the requisitioning department, copy-write sourcing for suitable images, propose the most suitable layout as per the brand guidelines and ensure the artwork files are print-ready where necessary.
- Update the artwork for brand-related collateral as and when required.
- Assist in developing artwork for any new brand collateral
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure all consumer-facing collateral meets the brand guidelines at a corporate and property level across both brands.
- Monitor marketing and branding collateral to ensure the correct use of logos, colors and brand images.
- Complete purchase orders prior to ordering materials, liaise with vendors and track the cost and delivery of marketing materials.
- Work closely with appointed agencies to oversee production, ensuring deadlines and design specifications are met.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs.
- Ad-hoc responsibilities as directed by the Director of Marketing

Requirements

Experience and Education Required

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Advertising, Graphic Design, or a related field required.
- Master's degree or advanced professional education in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Experience

Minimum of two years’ experience as a Graphic Artist or a similarly creative role.

- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within luxury hospitality, hotels, resorts, travel, lifestyle, or a related industry.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a marketing leadership or management position.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and external agencies/vendors.
- Experience leading creative development across print and digital channels.
- Experience with social media, digital marketing, email marketing, website management, and marketing analytics.
- Experience managing multiple brands, properties, or business units is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment is preferred.

Physical Demands

- Must be able to:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
- Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
