Job Responsibilities:

This IT Administrator – Network & Systems position will be located at our Carrollton facility and report directly to the IT Manager. This IT Administrator will be responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

General Job Duties:

- To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.

- To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

Specific Job Duties:

- Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco switches, including VLANs, trunking, port security, spanning tree, and related network services.

- Manage wired and wireless network infrastructure, including enterprise access points, wireless controllers, coverage, performance, and secure connectivity.

- Monitor network availability and performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, packet loss, and device communication issues throughout the facility.

- Maintain accurate network diagrams, switch-port documentation, IP address records, equipment inventories, and configuration standards.

- Support network expansion projects, equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades, and coordination with corporate IT and third-party vendors.

- Assist with firewall, VPN, remote-access, and network security configuration and troubleshooting under established company standards.

- Stage, configure, deploy, patch, and support physical and virtual Windows Server environments.

- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and user and computer accounts.

- Monitor server health, capacity, backups, and system performance to support reliable business and manufacturing operations.

- Support enterprise and manufacturing software applications, including installation, configuration, upgrades, licensing, access administration, and vendor coordination.

- Assist with backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, vulnerability remediation, access reviews, and IT audit activities.

- Provide technical support for infrastructure, application, hardware, and end-user issues and escalate complex incidents when required.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, recovery instructions, and configuration records.

- Participate in IT infrastructure projects, system upgrades, technology implementations, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

- Provide occasional on-call support for critical network, server, infrastructure, or application incidents.

- Work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment and communicate clearly with employees, management, vendors, and corporate IT.

Skills Required:

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and common network troubleshooting methods.

- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network switches required.

- Experience managing enterprise wireless access points and wireless networks required.

- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, file services, and print services.

- Experience staging, imaging, configuring, and deploying servers and infrastructure equipment.

- Understanding of firewall technologies, VPN connectivity, network security, patch management, and access control principles.

- Ability to administer and troubleshoot enterprise software applications, software deployments, licensing, and user access.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, network, and infrastructure issues.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, vendors, and technical teams.

- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

- Fluent in English (reading and writing).

Experience Required:

- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in network administration, network support, or infrastructure support required.

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco switches required.

- Experience managing enterprise wireless access points and troubleshooting wireless connectivity required.

- Experience staging, deploying, and supporting Windows servers required.

- Experience administering Active Directory and core network services preferred.

- Experience supporting enterprise or manufacturing software applications preferred.

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Education Required:

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.

- Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent industry certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while sitting at a computer workstation for up to eight (8) hours a day and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis. Good vision at a close distance is required. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion (typing and mouse use) for up to eight (8) hours a day. Must also be able to work in equipment rooms, communication closets, office areas, and production environments as required. (See attached sheet for detailed physical description of this position.)
