Job Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Supervisor at Magna Engineered Glass plays a critical role in overseeing quality technicians and managing inspection procedures. The Supervisor will lead a team of quality technicians and work collaboratively across departments to support engineering and production objectives. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to foster productive relationships both within and outside of the Magna Exteriors – Engineered Glass division.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Supervise day-to-day operations of quality technicians to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

·   Ensure all standard work instructions (SWI) are accurate and up-to-date.

·  Manage and train quality inspectors; delegate tasks and monitor performance.

·   Ensure sorting/inspections are done per customer specifications, develop reports and record data in scientific ways.

· Analyze product failures using structured problem-solving techniques and support root cause investigations.

·  Participate in customer and supplier technical problem-solving as circumstances require.

·   Support quality testing and analysis of production parts, especially in response to failures or deviations.

·   Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Product Development, and other departments to ensure technical goals are aligned with overall business needs.

·   Ensure all work adheres to Magna Exteriors – Engineered Glass’s quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.

·   Responsible and accountable to lead, manage, support, and provide direction to all staff within the department through global effective goals/objectives setting performance monitoring and reviews, communication, and the execution of on-the-job training and development plans.

·   Effectively communicates performance in all aspects of the business including, but not limited to Policy, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Equity, Productivity and General Focus Factory Communications, during pre-shift meetings and team meetings.

·   Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Ensure compliance with all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal regulations, by promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

·   Lead safety initiatives within the department, ensuring that all employees receive proper EHS training, including but not limited to, hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe operating procedures.

·   Champion continuous improvement of EHS practices by actively participating in safety committees, reviewing incident reports, and sharing best practices across the organization.

·   Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards, recommending and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent workplace incidents.

·  Collaborate with the EHS team and plant leadership to drive initiatives aimed at reducing workplace accidents, promoting ergonomic work environments, and enhancing overall employee well-being.

·   Monitor and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that equipment and tools are in safe working condition.

·  Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective and preventive actions to ensure lessons are learned and shared across the organization.

·   Track and report EHS metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring timely and accurate reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety improvements to meet corporate and regulatory standards.

·   Support the development of emergency preparedness and response plans, ensuring that staff are adequately trained to respond to potential emergencies effectively.

·  Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate policies, goals, and feedback effectively.

·  Continuous Improvement: Experience leading continuous improvement activities, leveraging tools like lean manufacturing and principles or Six Sigma.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

·  Standing and walking 75%; sitting 25%

·   Production floor environment, that is loud (hearing protection strongly recommended)

·   Willing and able to work 7 days per week, 10-12 hour shifts, during periods of peak customer demand

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree such as Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

•  Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated capability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

•  Demonstrated leadership skills in managing personnel, technical processes, and interdepartmental collaboration.

• Ability to direct and lead others through daily assignments, special projects, and root cause analysis.

• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), experimental design, and root cause analysis.

•  Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, including quality and process standards (e.g., ISO, IATF).

•  Ability to develop, implement, maintain and support quality systems.

•  Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

•  Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in manufacturing environments.

•  English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
