2027 Intern, Environmental Health and Safety

Purpose

As a key member of the Environmental Health and Safety Team, candidate would assist in the implementation of company policies and procedures, daily job site visits and audits, and incident investigation and reporting.

Education and Experience (Required)

- General knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and standards.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Must be a full or part-time student currently pursuing a career in environmental health & safety.

Education and Experience (Preferred)

- Prior experience in health & safety or related field or full/part time student currently pursuing a career in environmental health & safety

- OSHA 30 Training

- Internal Auditing

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

- Valid driver’s license

- Good 3-year driving record

- Comfortable discussing safety behavior and performance opportunities with employees and leaders across the organization.

- Understanding of construction projects and OSHA Standard 1926.

- Proven ability to multi-task, complete projects, and paperwork on time.

- Strong work ethic and high degree of initiative.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience in conducting accident investigations and writing reports.

Construction Environmental Health and Safety Intern Responsibilities

- Perform various departmental and field assignments.

- Participate in job site safety audits.

- Assist team members with various duties assigned.

- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local and industry specific safety, health, and environmental regulations.

- Monitors programs for compliance with existing and new OSHA Standards; analyzes and reviews policies and programs.

- Providing corrective action recommendations.

- Update various records, files, and procedures, as assigned.

- Participate in various job-related activities as assigned.

- Some overtime may be required.
