GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including intercompany activity
- Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and financial reports
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Review AP and cash receipt activity for proper general ledger coding
- Coordinate grant revenue recognition, accruals, billing, and reporting
- Analyze financial results and investigate budget variances
- Assist with annual budgeting and internal and external audit schedules
- Partner with operational teams to resolve accounting and reporting questions
- Support capital project tracking and other accounting projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration or significant coursework in Accounting
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to learn and grow
