Executive Communications Senior Specialist – Central Functions

This role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work. You will report to the Communications director of functional business partners and serve as the primary Communications point of contact for six corporate functions including Finance, Contracts and Business Development. As the communications expert, you will provide strategic counsel and support the creation, editing, and dissemination of communications for individual and project-related messages.

Our hybrid work model requires a regular presence at our Nashua, NH sites. This role will have a weekly on-site presence, with occasional travel (approximately 10% of the time) to support business needs.

What You’ll Do
Functional Partnership & Cross-Functional Alignment

- Serve as a trusted advisor for corporate functions, including: Business Development
- Communications
- Contracts
- Finance
- Legal/Ethics
- Government Relations

- Coordinate cross-functional communications activities, prioritizing deliverables and ensuring timely distribution and alignment across functions.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with segment and functional partners to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, reporting progress and outcomes to leadership.

Strategic & Advisory Communications

- Provide strategic counsel and coaching to business leaders on communications best practices.
- Provide guidance on message tone, format, channel, timing, and audience segmentation to ensure effective communication.
- Translate complex technical or strategic concepts into clear, compelling messages tailored to senior leaders, frontline staff, and cross-functional partners.

Content Development & Messaging Execution

- Develop and execute corporate communications ranging from routine announcements to complex strategies requiring sound judgment, sensitivity, and audience awareness.
- Write, edit, and proofread communications materials, such as: Executive presentations and speeches
- Leadership memos, town hall scripts, and talking points
- Organizational announcements
- Employee engagement stories and social content

- Ensure communications are accurate, timely, purposeful, and aligned with BAE Systems culture and priorities.
- Maintain brand integrity by adhering to corporate branding and identity guidelines.

Process Improvement & Communications Excellence

- Continuously improve communications processes by: Benchmarking best in class practices
- Introducing new tools, templates, and playbooks to elevate quality and efficiency

- Champion Communications Operating Principles to ensure all messaging reflects organizational values, fosters inclusion, and reinforces a high performance culture.

Because this role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work, this position is a hybrid role, with a flexible 1-2 days per week in office.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, English, or marketing plus five to eight years of experience in a communications discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

- Demonstrated track record of supporting enterprise-level communications projects and campaigns.
- In-depth knowledge of modern communications tactics, media, procedures, and concepts.

- Ability to simultaneously initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks across teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to execute short-term and long-term deadlines across multiple projects.
- Ability to perform dynamic work without appreciable direction.
- Applies extensive expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
- Proficiency in all MS Office programs.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Defense or high-tech industry experience preferred.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118747 - $201870

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
