After School Athletics CDL Certified Bus Driver (Immediate)

Role Overview: Valor College Prep seeks dedicated and enthusiastic CDL Drivers to support the athletic transportation demands of our student-athletes. Working closely with athletic administration, you will play a critical role in safely getting athletes to and from practices and competitive events. By providing secure, reliable, and smooth transportation, you create a supportive environment where our student-athletes feel safe and cared for on the road, allowing them to focus fully on competing at their best and growing both on and off the field.

Responsibilities Include:

- Collaborate with the Athletic Director, administration, and coaches to support the overall vision and logistical goals of the athletic program.
- Operate school-provided Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) vehicles safely and efficiently to transport student-athletes, coaches, and staff to and from practices, away games, and athletic competitions.
- Ensure student-athletes experience a safe, supportive, and caring transportation environment that allows them to focus on competing at their best.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify mechanical safety, emergency equipment readiness, and cleanliness.
- Maintain strict adherence to all local, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations, traffic laws, and school safety policies.
- Assist athletic staff with the safe loading, unloading, and securing of athletic gear, equipment, and team supplies.
- Promote a culture of respect, teamwork, accountability, and school pride among athletes while onboard school transportation.
- Foster positive, supportive relationships with student-athletes while modeling professionalism, integrity, and strong character.
- Support the physical safety and overall well-being of all passengers during transit
- Maintain clear and timely communication with athletic administration regarding trip schedules, route updates, departure/arrival times, and unexpected delays.
- Enforce student behavioral expectations, vehicle cleanliness rules, and safety standards while on the road.
- Assist with transportation arrangements for special school events, pep rallies, tournaments, and other athletic activities as assigned.

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) Endorsement required (School Bus (S) Endorsement not required).
- Clean driving record with a strong history of safe vehicle operation.
- Previous commercial driving or student transportation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and vehicle inspection standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with athletic administration, coaches, athletes, families, and school staff.
- Ability to positively interact with and mentor student-athletes in a professional manner.
- Ability to safely operate commercial passenger vehicles under various weather and traffic conditions.
- Ability to conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, assist with loading/unloading athletic equipment, and sit for extended periods during transit.

Schedule: This position will run for the entirety of the 2026–27 school year. Daily hours will include some shifts during the school day, with the majority of driving occurring after school (2:30pm) and into the evenings to support athletic practices, games, team events, and competitions. Weekend travel will rarely be required.
