Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has previous dental assisting experience and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. Oral surgery experience is strongly preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures
- Prepare patients, treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment
- Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control standards
- Take and process dental X-rays as permitted
- Review and update patient information and clinical documentation
- Prepare dental materials and surgical supplies
- Provide patients with preoperative and postoperative instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical area
- Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, safety, and sanitation requirements
- Collaborate with clinical and front-office team members to support an efficient patient experience
Qualifications
- Previous dental assisting experience required
- Oral surgery experience strongly preferred
- Current Texas dental assistant registration or ability to obtain it, as applicable
- Familiarity with dental instruments, equipment, and clinical procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and patient-service skills
- Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
