About this role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients, you’ll help coordinate project activities, maintain documentation, track schedules and costs, and keep projects moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Support commercial construction projects through preconstruction, procurement, construction, and closeout .
- Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, correspondence, and project documentation .
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors regarding scopes, schedules, materials, and outstanding requirements.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, missing information, and potential project issues.
- Assist with project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Participate in meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams while tracking action items and follow-ups.
- Assist with cost tracking, commitments, invoices, change orders, and other project financial documentation.
- Visit active jobsites to document progress, verify field conditions, and coordinate with field personnel.
- Support punch-list activities, final inspections, warranty requirements, and project closeout.
- Identify potential delays, coordination issues, and other project risks and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Take on increasing project responsibility as technical knowledge and project management experience develop.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, project coordination, project engineering, or a related construction role.
- Experience working for a general contractor on commercial construction, renovation, tenant improvement, or similar projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and project documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, superintendents, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered.
- Commercial construction experience is required. Residential-only experience will not meet the requirements.
