About this role
The Taylor labs is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) research technician to work with the plant tissue culture and molecular biology teams to support the production of genetically transformed and genome edited plants. The candidate will work as part of an established team generating genetically modified cassava, providing support for general lab duties and assistance with plant tissue culture and Agrobacterium-based transformation. The individual should have a basic understanding of sterile techniques and be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have working knowledge in plant tissue culture. The candidate must be able to operate successfully in team environments to deliver results in a timely manner. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required. Responsibilities:
Preparation of stock solutions
Preparation of sterile media
Plant micropropagation
Transfer of plantlets to soil for greenhouse studies
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Good communicator with ability to work within a team

Generate and maintain clear and accurate records of work undertaken.

Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelor in Biological Sciences or Associates Degree in a science-related discipline.
