PALM Health Cafe - Cook
The PALM Health Café is a small café specializing in healthy and nutritious food, baked goods, smoothies, and coffee beverages. The Cook will prepare delicious smoothies, juices, salads, sandwiches, and other simple entrées. Duties include setting up workstations and ingredients to arrange dishes according to recipes, prepare food and smoothies to order, and prepare packaged food for on-site purchase. Qualified candidates must be able to work well and collaboratively in a fast-paced and busy environment, be quick and diligent, and willing to improve on the job. The Cook must be able to follow instructions and adhere to all health and safety rules in the kitchen.
This is a full-time position, working days; generally 10:30am to 7pm Monday to Thursday, and 7am - 2pm on Friday.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Two years’ experience as prep/cook (required)
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen (required)
- Manual dexterity: able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); training from a culinary school will be an asset
