Primary Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 2D kanban barcode labels as needed. Maintain kanban containers and order new containers when required. Troubleshoot kanban issues with Bills of Material (BOM). Provide data as required to support material flow improvements resulting from optimizing kanban levels. Manage spreadsheets of all manufactured parts in the kanban system.
- Work with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Material Planning to determine the material replenishment strategy and corresponding kanban size for new manufactured parts. Support manufacturing personnel and assembly operators by determining material storage space requirements for manufacturing area layouts. Support Purchasing, the Production and Inventory Control Leader and suppliers to implement kanban systems from designated suppliers of production materials.
- Support all areas of Manufacturing and Materials by investigating, resolving shortage issues. Work with line stock handlers and assemblers to improve their processes and flow. Communicate between the assembly lines, planners, and materials when issues arrive, with the outcome/resolution. Provide general lean manufacturing support as required to improve manufacturing and office processes as directed by supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years related experience in the Warehouse and Logistics areas.
- Additional skills needed: Strong understanding of all Manufacturing Flow & processes. Strong SAP Crown 360 computer skills, Excel. Strong sense of urgency and organization will be needed for this position. Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills amongst shop floor and support staff. Must be able to execute projects and lead small teams within process scope.
