Corporate Banking - Banker - C12 - SAO PAULO

The Corporate Banker is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of multinational subsidiaries in Brazil, acting as the primary relationship manager and strategic partner to clients.

The role has direct ownership of client relationships, with a strong focus on portfolio management, client acquisition and activation, business development and revenue growth. The Banker is expected to develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, financial priorities and strategic needs, leveraging Citi’s global network and broad product capabilities to deliver relevant banking solutions.

A key component of the role is to identify, prospect and acquire new multinational clients, accelerate the activation of newly onboarded relationships and expand wallet penetration across the existing portfolio. The Banker will coordinate internal product, credit, risk and global coverage teams to ensure disciplined execution and a consistent client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own and actively manage a portfolio of multinational subsidiaries, serving as the primary point of contact and driving the overall relationship strategy.
- Drive client acquisition and prospecting, identifying new-to-bank opportunities and developing a strong pipeline of target multinational companies.
- Lead the activation of new clients, accelerating the conversion of newly onboarded relationships into active and sustainable revenue-generating clients.
- Develop and execute individual client strategies and account plans, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and increase wallet penetration.
- Drive revenue growth through effective cross-selling of Citi’s platform, including Cash Management, Trade & Working Capital, Lending, Markets, Cards and other relevant banking solutions.
- Maintain regular engagement with senior client stakeholders, developing a strong understanding of their business model, financial performance, strategic priorities and banking needs.
- Perform and contribute to credit analysis, including assessment of financial performance, capital structure, liquidity, leverage and overall creditworthiness.
- Coordinate closely with Product, Credit, Risk, Operations and global/regional coverage teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure high-quality execution.
- Maintain strong portfolio discipline, including pipeline management, revenue tracking, client activity, credit monitoring and identification of emerging risks.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Citi’s policies, applicable regulations and risk management standards.

Qualifications:

- Relevant experience in Corporate Banking or multinational client coverage, preferably with direct portfolio ownership.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management, client acquisition, prospecting and business development.
- Strong credit and financial analysis skills, with the ability to assess corporate financial statements and transaction structures.
- Strong commercial mindset and proven ability to identify and convert opportunities into sustainable client relationships and revenues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior client stakeholders and internal partners.
- Fluency in English is required ; proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish or Chinese, is desirable.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across countries and product areas.
- CPA-20 certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
