Manager - Pharmacy (Job Overview)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:30AM-5:30PM)

As Pharmacy Manager, you’ll bring your expertise, leadership, and passion for patient care to the heart of Legacy Community Health’s Retail Pharmacy Services. In this meaningful role, you’ll guide the systems, people, technology, and policies that help ensure patients receive safe, timely, effective, and affordable medication support.

You’ll work alongside a collaborative healthcare team to strengthen pharmacy operations and help connect medication management with better patient outcomes. Your leadership will make a difference across the full pharmacy ecosystem—from supply chain and inventory management to education, billing, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care.

- Build strong relationships with pharmacists, providers, patients, and staff to support continuity of care.

- Support therapeutic outcomes, reduce drug-related problems, and encourage cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
- Mentor and develop team members through educational activities that strengthen knowledge and competency.
- Use data, technology, and performance improvement practices to identify opportunities and create meaningful change.
- Help advance community healthcare through work that connects operational excellence with compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish strategic planning for the Retail Pharmacy Services.
- Identify the appropriate workforce efforts, including the number, type, and qualifications of staff required to meet patient care needs and satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Design, manage, and ensure workflows that promote efficiency and timeliness of care.
- Establish quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Perform data collection and use appropriate reporting tools.
- Identify concerns and opportunities and make recommendations for change, when needed.
- Oversee the appropriate use of information systems and technology, including support systems and automation/barcoding for safety.
- Oversee pharmacy inventory, control pharmaceutical expenses, and maximize revenue.
- Collaborate to develop initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes, reduce drug-related problems, and ensure cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
- Ensure appropriate audits for controlled substances and 340B adherence.
- Oversee financial operations and ensure appropriate contracting.
- Understand the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and quality functions required for financial performance success.
- Create and implement educational activities to validate staff knowledge and competency.
- Develop and utilize educational programs to enhance patient engagement and improve patient outcomes.
- Foster pharmacist communication with patients and providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Develop and ensure appropriate policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required
- Active Texas Board of Pharmacy License required
- Must maintain BLS /CPR

Required Years of Experience

- 5-10 years of Pharmacy experience with demonstrated success OR Completed ASHP PGY1/2 Clinical Residency and/or Administrative Hospital Pharmacy Residency

Desirable Education and/or Experience

- Master’s degree in Public Health or Healthcare/Business Management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (Minimum Requirements)

- Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services.
- Administrative, management, or supervisory experience.
- Exceptional leadership, mediation abilities, and multi-tasking skills required.
- Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Basic knowledge of statistics and graphical representation principles.
- Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software.
- Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
